One of the best things about Malbec from Argentina is that you don’t have to break the bank for a fantastic bottle of wine! Decero Malbec is a prime example of the quality to value ratio that comes from truly well done Malbec. Located in the Mendoza sub-appellation of Agrelo, the vines are grown at 3500 feet in altitude, in the Remolinos Vineyard’s coarse soils. This combination of terroir and climate help to formulate the beginnings of a very elegant wine with elevated aromatics, and deep, pure fruit. Violets and spring fields fill the nose with anticipatory fruit opening up the palate for that trademark Argentine expression of Malbec. The finish is polished and smooth, with lasting, supple tannin and a distant sense of place. This wine is amazing paired with pork chops and sautéed veggies!
