With the holidays right around the corner, it’s never too early to start thinking about the perfect red wine to accompany your family gatherings. While Pinot Noir is an obvious choice to pair with your holiday meals, Cru Beaujolais can provide a unique alternative when looking for medium bodied, low tannin red that lends itself to many of the classic flavors you’ll find this time of the year. Juliénas is one of ten Crus within the appellation of Beaujolais, often producing wines with darker fruit concentration and slightly more tannic structure. Black currant, raspberry preserves, cedar, and spice make this bottle a fantastic pairing for turkey and cranberry sauce, glazed ham, or (my favorite) homemade cherry pie.
