A promising season of CU Football is around the corner, and why not celebrate the return of college football with the brand-new Laws Ralphie’s Reserve whiskey? Laws Whiskey House has recently been declared an official sponsor of CU Athletics and, in honor of that, has released a whiskey featuring the CU mascot. The whiskey, coming from Laws, is grown, distilled, and aged in the heart of Colorado. The mash bill of Ralphie’s Reserve consists of 60% corn, 20% heirloom wheat, 10% heirloom rye, and 10% heirloom malted barley. It is aged for 3+ years in new 53-gallon charred oak barrels. You will find flavors of caramel, brown sugar, almond, vanilla, and toffee. A portion of the proceeds from each bottle is donated to the Ralphie live mascot program, which directly provides care for current and retired live buffalo mascots.
Laws Whiskey House has been producing some of the best whiskeys in Colorado since 2011. They are creating unique and bold flavored experiences. The grain-forward style you find in Laws comes from heirloom grains that can be very tricky to work with. These grains come from two family-owned farms, one in the San Luis Valley and the other on the eastern plains. Laws whiskey is aged for a minimum of 3 years and was the first distiller in Colorado to produce a bonded whiskey. They have multiple expressions, each exemplifying what can be done in the state of Colorado with a little hard work and dedication to their craft.
