Domaine Fenouillet –
Vaucluse Rouge 2018
Sale Price:  $11.99
Reg Price:  $14.99

I just revisited a great old world bargain this past week.  Domaine Fenouillet Vaucluse rouge from the Southern Rhone is a delicious blend of certified organic Marselan (a cross between Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache) and Merlot that really over-delivers for the price.  Originally, this estate started in Beaumes de Venice in the Southern Rhone, producing award winning Muscat Beaumes de Venice.  Over the next couple of generations, the Soard family grew their holdings to the current vineyards in seven different surrounding communes.  During the expansion phase, the grapes were sold off to the local cooperative and now great grandsons and current owners Patrick and Vincent are renewing the fame of the estate by making and bottling the estate wines.  The Vaucluse Rouge is a juicy wine with fresh red fruits and plums mixed with underbrush and forest floor in a medium bodied and silky style.  This is a great wine for this time of year as we start moving into cooler nights!  Cheers!
