Diebolt Make Hay While the Sun Shines
We’re taking a break from our countdown of Colorado Oktoberfest beers to try a very quirky French saison from Diebolt. Make Hay While the Sun Shines is brewed with actual hay. Yes, the kind you’d feed your horse. It pours a very pale, clear goldenrod color, almost like an American light lager, with a sudsy head that doesn’t stick around long. On the nose, it’s got the trademark funk of a good saison and just a bit of spice. It drinks fairly dry and clean, with fresh cut grass notes a little bit of tangy sourness on the back end. It’s not nearly as odd as the unorthodox ingredients might make you think!
