Great Divide Hibernation Ale
For those days when the thermometer dips so low you don’t want to leave the comfort of your home, Great Divide’s appropriately-named Hibernation Ale is just the thing to keep you feeling jolly and cozy. This English-style old ale clocks in at 8.7% alcohol and pours a dark red-brown like a glowing log that just got thrown on the campfire. Unlike some other winter favorites we’ve sampled, this guy isn’t brewed with any fancy spices. It’s just a malty, boozy, delicious treat with some notes of cookie dough and roasted marshmallows that finishes surprisingly clean with a generous helping of herbal hops on the back end. Also keep an eye out for the barrel-aged version available in single 12 oz bottles!
