Nathan’s Wine of the Week 05.01.19

Les Granges Saint-Martin Saint-Chinian Rouge 2017

The picturesque Saint-Chinian appellation is nestled near the ancient city of Beziers in southwest France. The city is rustic, earthy, and wonderfully authentic, just like the wines of the area. This bold red features flavors of dried black cherry, wild herbs, licorice, and pepper, on a moderately tannic mid-weight frame. The wine is a value-priced knockout with traditional cassoulet, olive tapenade on toast, or any dish that marries pork sausage and tomatoes.
