Elena Walch Rosé 20/26
With the relentless July heat upon us, seek solace in a cool glass of Elena Walch Rosé! In 2012, I had one of my first “ah-ha” wine moments tasting through Elena Walch’s stunning line-up. Along with her daughters, Julia and Karoline, Elena has created one of the leading estates in northern Italy’s Alto Adige region. Architect turned winemaker, Elena took it upon herself to elevate the region, promoting high standards and innovation within her local wine community. Her 20/26 Rosé is a cuvee of Lagrein, Pinot Noir, and Merlot, produced in the saignée method. A floral bouquet of cherry blossom, apricot, and kumquat with a subtle spicy undertone leads to a medium-bodied palate of red plum, cranberry, blood orange, and grapefruit, with mouthwatering acidity.
