Vonkel’ Brut Rosé showcases exquisite
South African fruit through traditional
Champagne techniques. Composed
predominantly of Pinot Noir, this sparkler
is unique in that it includes 34% Pinotage.
A cross between Cinsault and Pinot Noir,
Pinotage has become a South African
benchmark variety. Winemaker Johan
Malan and his team hand harvest all of
the fruit for this cuvee which is
co-fermented in stainless steel to
preserve freshness. Rose petals and
red berry fruit are balanced by
crisp acidity and a creamy
mousse. Pair with a fresh summer
salad of spinach and strawberries
topped with pecans and feta,
heirloom tomato
and ricotta tart, or
some take-out
sushi.
