Dry Dock Tripel 8.75% A.B.V.

Stout month would be over today if it wasn’t a leap year, but it’s not, and I couldn’t care less because my palate needs a break. Enter Dry Dock, and their wonderful tripel. This lovely Belgian style ale pours a glassy gold with the most elegant lacing of microscopic pearly white bubbles. The nose is an amazing combination of mango, cardamom, clove and eucalyptus. The mouth feel is delicate and refreshing, with a decent amount of carbonation and a finish that is sweet and satisfying. Is summer here yet? In my mouth, yes, yes it is. Cheers!

Great Divide Belgian Style Yeti 9.5% A.B.V.

Stout month would not be complete without one of Great Divide's famous and elusive beasts, the belgian style yeti! The coat of this beast is dense and dark with a lovely milk chocolate head. The nose is overwhelmingly satisfying with notes of dark chocolate, caramel, toasted pecans, plums, bananas, cinnamon and bourbon. Belgian yeast is crisp on the palate but toasted malts add a dry and bitter layer. Chocolate and alcohol linger in the back of the throat for a lengthy and decadent finish. Don't let this elusive beast escape your tastebuds! Cheers! - Cody

Stout month continues with Green Flash and their Double Stout. This monster brew weighs in at a whopping 8.8 percent alcohol by volume and has done wonders getting me through these snowy days. Black as the night in color with a delicate ring of mocha bubbles this bad boy is truly attractive. The nose is robust with aromas of vanilla, baker’s chocolate, toasted malts and molasses. De Halve Maan Straffe Hendrik Tripel 9.0% A.B.V.

I tend to consider myself a full on hop head, which i'm sure most of you have noticed is quite true, but sometimes my palate just needs a break. On occassion I find myself craving the structure and flavor of a traditional tripel and the Straffe Hendrik always does the trick. This wonderful belgian brew pours a shimmering blonde with great head retention and a fluffy layer of pearly white bubbles. The nose is a delicious combination of cinnamon, freshly sliced apples, belgian yeast, brown sugar and just a hint of freshly baked bread. The mouth feel is crisp and rich with a pleasant layer of alcohol that adds a slight burn to the lengthy finish. So fellow hop heads, if you feel like something new try this one out, you wont be disappointed. Cheers! - Cody
