Deschutes Hop Henge experimental IPA 8.5%

Chris spent this last weekend in Oregon and thought it would be funny to send me a picture from Deshutes to show me what I was missing, I was not amused. As he sat next to the head brewer and sipped his delicious beverages I couldn't help myself and had to feature one of their tasty brews, their Hop Henge IPA. This rather large slice of paradise pours a beautiful bronze color with a delicate lacing of pearly white bubbles. The nose boasts the aroma of hops, citrus, and candied apricots with just a hint of pineapple. The mouth feel is wonderfully sticky and rich and the carbonation does a wonderful job of carrying an array of flavors down the throat while at the same time creates a long finish. Sadly I wasn't at the brewery enjoying beers with Chris, but their beer was right here in my glass, so how can I really complain? Check it out today! Cheers! -Cody

Great Divide Espresso Oak Aged Yeti 9.5% A.B.V.

For those who have failed to notice, Great Divide's Espresso Oak Aged Yeti has been the beer of the week three years running, and just as fast as it has been released. I chose to feature this beer last year, and the year before my friend and beer mentor Justin featured it as well. We have always thrown our support behind Great Divide, and what they do, and they just so happen to produce some of the sickest stouts around. The Espresso Yeti pours an intense shade of black with a mocha/crimson head. The nose is a wonderful combination of charred oak, vanilla, bourbon, espresso, bakers chocolate and brown sugar. The mouth feel is rich and round, with a generous amount of carbonation that finishes as bitter and dry as a shot of espresso. Coffee lingers in the back of the throat with the flavor of dark chocolate that lasts and lasts. Your go to breakfast stout is back, but not for long. Get it now! Cheers! - Cody

Liefmans Goudenband 8.0% A.B.V.

Recently I have noticed the demand for sour beers, and for those of you out there looking for the next best tart brew, you don't have to look any further than this belgian sour by Liefmans. Goudenband pours a deep mahogany with a fluffly layer of mocha head that lingers until the very last drop. The nose is a pleasant combination of yeast, brown sugar, and sour cherries with just a hint of freshly dampened soil. The carbonation amplifies the beers tartness creating a crisp and bright mouth feel while at the same time the other array of flavors brings a layer of richness to the palate. The finish is lengthy and the flavors linger in the back of the throat and help mask the alcohol content. For those in need of a sour, and one thats easy to find, grab this brew by Liefmans. Cheers!
