Great Divide Grand Cru - 11% A.B.V.

Great Divide's Grand Cru is an elaborate interpretation of a Belgian style dark ale that is certainly capable of taking your breath away. The combination of imported malts as well as a breed of Belgian yeast creates a stunning yet intense beer that is full of flavor. On the nose you get aromas of caramel, toffee, dark fruit, raisins, alcohol and just the slightest hint of cayenne pepper. This medium bodied beer has a bright ruby color and just enough carbonation to create a smooth lacing of off white bubbles. The combination of flavors creates a powerful mouth feel that is incredibly sweet at first, but is followed by the burn of alcohol and finishes with just a subtle hint of spice. Grand Cru is elegant and delicious, but do enjoy with caution because the alcohol content does sneak up on you. Cheers!
